At the heart of Buddha’s teaching is the profound understanding that we are all fundamentally good.
The entire path, including the practice of meditation, is directed towards realising this basic goodness. It is taught that the entire teaching of Buddha can be summed up in just one line: to tame our own mind. This is why the practice of meditation, of getting to know our own mind, is so important. When we say mind, emotions and feelings are also included.
Over the course of this year’s program we will explore the practice of meditation and look at other important topics like our common wish for happiness. We all want to be happy but invariably we all experience the ups and downs of everyday life. We will look at how kindness and compassion, for ourselves and others, can be cultivated and increased and why this is so central to our own well being.
