We all want to be happy. This natural wish for happiness is something we all share. Yet much of the time we seem to get a mixture of happiness and suffering.
At the heart of Buddha’s teaching is the profound understanding that we are all fundamentally good. The entire path, including the practice of meditation, is directed towards realising our own basic goodness that is beyond the ups and downs of everyday life.
A unique understanding of the Buddhist tradition is the understanding of how our mind is the basis for all our experience. This is why the practice of meditation, of getting to know our own mind, is so important. When we say mind, emotions and feelings are also included.
Over the course of this program we will explore the practice of meditation and have a chance to practice together. There will be time for discussion and questions.
We will also look at other important topics from the Buddhist tradition, things such as our common wish for happiness. We will also look at how kindness and compassion, for ourselves and others, can be cultivated and increased and how this has a truly transformative impact on our well being.
