Alain Beauregard’s Irish Tour: A Spiritual Approach to Healing

Alain Beauregard, a Rigpa senior teacher based in Montreal, has just completed an Irish tour during which he led evening sessions in Dublin and Cork as well as a 3-day retreat in Dzogchen Beara.

At the age of 46, Alain’s life changed dramatically with the discovery of an advanced stage 4 metastatic bladder cancer, incurable according to medicine. However, through the power of prayer and the healing practices of Tibetan Buddhism, the chemotherapy treatments he received were extremely effective, and a complete cure was achieved in four months, against all odds.

Alain began his visit in Dublin on Wednesday evening, 16th October, followed by Cork the next evening where he gave a talk entitled A Spiritual Approach to Healing. Both groups greatly appreciated and benefited from his heartfelt, valuable insights gained from personal challenges.

In Dzogchen Beara, he spent the weekend deepening the presentation on the Spiritual Approach to Healing with guided practices of meditation, visualization and invocation. The retreat was attended by 50 people in the Temple and was a wonderful opportunity to deepen their perspective on illness. It allowed the participants to explore the path of healing, in particular from a spiritual and emotional viewpoint. Alain shared his own personal experience of healing terminal cancer, with time to reflect on the whole path of transformation.

Alain explored the four main themes in this process of healing and transformation:

Alain, through this approach, introduced the participants to a holistic view of the process of healing and invited the participants to consider healing from the perspective of the entire being, not just the body.

Alain concluded the weekend with a very powerful “Guru Rinpoche of Healing” practice. This retreat had a profound effect on many of the participants, and we are looking forward to Alain returning again to Ireland in the near future.

You can read Alain’s story of complete healing on his website where online courses on the topic of “spiritual healing” are available.
